The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a breach of privilege notice to Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi following complaints from BJP MPs regarding his remarks during a recent debate.
Gandhi must submit his response by August 28, 2026, concerning allegations that he used unparliamentary language against Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the Public Examination Amendment Bill discussion.
If the response is deemed unsatisfactory, the matter will be referred to the Committee of Privileges, which is currently chaired by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad.
