The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee unanimously confirmed its support for FIFA president Gianni Infantino on August 6, 2026, ahead of his re-election bid in March 2027.
CAF, representing 54 of FIFA's 211 member associations, endorsed Infantino's decision to drop a controversial proposal to sell a stake in future World Cup commercial revenue.
The support provides a significant boost to Infantino, who faces opposition from UEFA and other confederations that have threatened to boycott future World Cups while he remains in office.
