The Beijing municipal government announced a complete ban on possessing or storing unmanned aerial vehicles within city limits, effective November 15.
Transporting drones or components into the capital will also be prohibited, following a June incident where a small plane crashed into a skyscraper.
Drone owners must dispose of devices or move them out of the city by the deadline to avoid confiscation and fines, with authorities offering shipping subsidies.
