The Indian Parliament has officially passed the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, which introduces stricter penalties, including long-term imprisonment and heavy fines, for those involved in exam malpractice.
The legislation was passed amid a walkout by opposition MPs, who argued that the bill lacks sufficient safeguards to protect students from systemic failures within the NTA.
The new law will apply to all central recruitment and entrance examinations, with the government stating it is a necessary step to restore public trust in the examination process.
