US Networks Boycott White House Coverage Over Ban on Three Outlets

Top US television networks staged a boycott on Monday, halting pool coverage of President Donald Trump to protest his decision to ban CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House.

The five major broadcasters issued a joint statement arguing that the public has a vital interest in independent information and that no administration should restrict news organisations based on coverage objections.

The boycott resulted in zero television coverage of Trump's Monday trip to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, while CNN and MS NOW pursued a federal court lawsuit.
