Zheng Qinwen Becomes First Home Player to Win China Open

Zheng Qinwen defeated Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday to become the first Chinese player to win the China Open.

The 24-year-old former world number four secured her first title in nearly two years as a wildcard entry following elbow surgery in 2025.

With her run to the final, Andreeva is set to rise to a career-high world No. 3 ranking.
