Manipuri Musician Lynched in Delhi; Eight Arrested

Chongtham Vikram Singh, a 54-year-old Manipuri guitarist, died after being attacked by a mob outside his New Delhi apartment late Sunday night.

Delhi police have arrested eight individuals, including one minor, in connection with the murder of the musician who had taught music in the capital for 20 years.

The incident has reignited concerns regarding racial discrimination against northeastern migrants, following a 2014 committee report that found 86 percent of 200,000 surveyed migrants faced such bias.
