DMK Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin Released on Bail After Police Questioning

DMK youth wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin was released on station bail on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, after 90 minutes of questioning at the Sengipatti Police Station in Thanjavur.

The arrest followed a complaint regarding alleged misogynistic remarks made by the Leader of the Opposition during a DMK demonstration on the Cauvery issue on August 3, 2026.

Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan of the Madras High Court ordered the release on bail, directing Stalin to cooperate with the ongoing investigation as required by the police.
