SIT Examines Hospitals in Bengaluru Fake Drug Racket Probe

The Special Investigation Team probing Bengaluru's fake medicine racket has issued notices to hospitals that purchased drugs from the accused.

Investigators are examining whether hospitals were aware of the medicine sources or violated procurement rules by buying drugs at lower prices.

The Drugs Control Department has sought Central government assistance to regulate and cap medicine prices as the probe expands beyond Karnataka.
