Delhi Police and the Rapid Action Force detained protesters at Jantar Mantar on August 21 after the group exceeded the permitted time and location for their demonstration.
The 'Reservation Hatao Andolan', which has 5.6 million Instagram followers, had been granted a no-objection certificate for a peaceful gathering of up to 500 people at Ramlila Maidan until 4 pm.
Authorities had previously denied reports that permission was granted for any protest at Jantar Mantar, citing law and order concerns before the event took place.
