Parliament Adjourned Amid Opposition Protests Over Home Minister's Absence

Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned until August 10, 2026, following persistent Opposition protests demanding a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding July 20 police action.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju rejected the Opposition's demand, stating that the Rajya Sabha Chairman gave no direction for the Home Minister's presence and that Ministers attend only for scheduled business.

Despite the disruptions, the Lok Sabha successfully passed The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which introduces a national digital platform for voluntary MSME registration.
