
Aradhana Misra has been appointed as the new Uttar Pradesh Congress president with the task of advancing seat-sharing talks with the Samajwadi Party for the upcoming assembly elections.
Misra stated that the INDIA bloc will prevent the BJP from winning a fourth consecutive assembly term in Uttar Pradesh, building on the alliance winning 43 of 80 Lok Sabha seats in 2024.
The organisational reshuffle also named Imran Masood as working president, Chaudhary Virendra Singh as legislative party leader, and Devinder Nishad and Alok Prasad as senior vice presidents.
