The U.S. Supreme Court late on September 30 vacated a lower court's stay of execution, clearing the path for Christa Pike to receive a lethal injection.
Pike is the only woman on Tennessee's death row and was convicted for the 1995 murder of a high-school classmate.
Her execution will mark the first time a woman is put to death in the United States since 2023.
