The University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has officially received recognition under Section 12(B) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
This status makes the university eligible for various UGC-funded schemes, research grants, and faculty development initiatives starting from July 29, 2026.
Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque and Vice Chancellor Prof. G. D. Sharma stated the recognition reinforces the institution's commitment to research, innovation, and higher education standards.
