Congo Ebola Cases Reach 3,360 as Uganda Declares Outbreak Over

Confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo rose to 3,360, with government data released Tuesday reporting 1,487 total deaths from the virus.

Uganda officially declared itself free of Ebola on Tuesday after discharging its final patient, who had been treated since mid-June.

Ugandan health authorities confirmed that their initial cases were linked to the outbreak in the Ituri province of Congo, where patients crossed the border seeking medical treatment.
