Roxy Giles, a student at Bohunt School for five years, was denied a place at the school's new sixth form despite achieving Grade 5s in English and Maths.
Headteacher Jen Comber stated that the sixth form requires students to meet specific subject-entry criteria for a full-time course, which includes three A-levels and an Extended Project Qualification.
The school is currently reviewing individual cases and signposting students who did not meet the high academic entry standards to other local educational institutions.
