United Friends School in Quakertown announced its closure on July 10, just five days before the start of the fall term, citing low enrollment of 50 students.
The school, which operated for 42 years, sold properties for $800,000 in May 2025 but failed to provide clear guidance on refunding prepaid tuition to families.
Board member Bob Wirtschafter confirmed the school struggled financially for years, losing five families in May 2026 alone, and directed parents to contact a lawyer regarding reimbursements.
