Anthropic Says Claude AI Helped Discover Novel Enzyme System ART

Anthropic announced that its Claude AI model helped discover a novel enzyme system named array-associated reverse transcriptases or ART.

The newly identified system contains repeating DNA sequences and a reverse transcriptase that shares patterns with gene-editing technology CRISPR.

The finding follows the establishment of Anthropic's wet lab in the San Francisco Bay Area to expand life sciences research.
