FSSAI Proposes Mandatory Warning Labels for High-Salt and Sugar Foods

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has proposed new regulations requiring pictorial front-of-pack warning labels for packaged foods high in salt, sugar, and fat.

The move follows a Supreme Court directive urging the regulator to address public health concerns regarding the consumption of ultra-processed junk foods.
