WhatsApp Introduces Optional Parental Controls for Teen Accounts

WhatsApp announced optional parental controls allowing parents and teens to customize privacy settings, secured by a parent-set PIN to prevent unauthorized changes.

The features enable parents to manage who views their teen's profile photo, control group additions and channel use, and set Meta AI preferences between a default and 'Limited Content' mode.

WhatsApp confirmed that adolescent chats will remain private and protected by end-to-end encryption despite the newly introduced parental settings.
