Google Expands Generative UI Features to AI Overviews in Search

Google announced on Wednesday that it is rolling out generative UI to AI Overviews, allowing the search engine to create custom visual layouts, interactive tools, and simulations on the fly.

The feature, which previously existed only in AI Mode since November 2025, is now available globally in English and is expected to reach full availability in AI Overviews within the coming weeks.

The update includes practical tools like mortgage calculators and study aids, such as practice quizzes and Lens coaching, as part of a broader effort to enhance educational and functional search results.
