Trump directs budget director to draft order on NIH grant funding

U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed budget director Russ Vought to draft an executive order establishing a board to oversee National Institutes of Health research grants.

The proposed board, which would include NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya and Vought, would require unanimous decisions to distribute congressionally-appropriated funds.
