The policy applies to treatments for rare diseases, gene therapies, and cell therapies, provided the nations have existing trade and security framework agreements.
This exemption runs alongside a broader 100 percent tariff on specified patented pharmaceutical products starting September 29, aimed at boosting domestic production.
