Teenage Carer Achieves GCSE Success Following Father's Death

A 16-year-old student from Leicestershire, Beckett, achieved nine GCSEs with grades ranging from 6 to 9, dedicating his academic success to his late father who passed away in February.

Beckett, who cared for his father alongside his mother and sister during his illness, credited his school's young carers club for providing the support necessary to continue his studies.

The student, who attended Long Field Spencer Academy, now aims to pursue a medical career, following in the footsteps of his father, a former paediatric cardiac anaesthetist.
