Negotiations between Pakistan's federal government and jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's PTI party broke down after talks failed to reach an agreement.
The PTI demanded immediate access to Khan for his personal physicians, release of arrested members, and proper hearings, while government representatives cited disagreements over counter-terrorism responsibilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Following the deadlock, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced that the party would proceed with its planned long march toward Islamabad starting Sunday afternoon.
