Kerala Declares Holiday for Educational Institutions in Five Districts Due to Rain

District collectors in Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Wayanad, and Kasaragod declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Friday due to heavy rainfall warnings.

The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for 11 districts, predicting very heavy rainfall between 12 cm and 20 cm within a 24-hour period.

The holiday applies to anganwadis, tuition centres, and professional colleges, though residential schools and previously scheduled examinations or interviews remain unaffected by the order.
