Karnataka Publishes Draft Electoral Roll; Final List Due October 27

The Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer published the draft electoral rolls on August 24, 2026, initiating a claims and objections period that will remain open until September 22.

The state will serve 43.8 lakh notices to voters flagged for discrepancies, with 24.05 lakh of these notices concentrated in Bengaluru, where the electorate count has shifted to 56.11 lakh.

Voters receiving notices must appear in person before Electoral Registration Officers for hearings, which will be conducted at designated government premises like police stations or gram panchayat offices.
