India Emerges as Key Petrol Supplier to Russia

India has become a major supplier of gasoline to Russia, with exports reaching approximately 125,000 barrels per day in August following Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries.

Data from Vortexa indicates that Indian refiners, including Nayara Energy's Vadinar facility, supplied nearly 1 million barrels of gasoline to Russia over the last two months.

Russia's domestic fuel production has dropped by up to 70% due to refinery damage, forcing Moscow to import fuel despite extending its own export bans through January 2027.
