US and Iran hold separate talks with mediators to end seven-month war

U.S. and Iranian officials spoke separately with mediators on Monday in a renewed effort to end seven months of conflict that began with U.S. and Israeli attacks in late February.

Discussions focus on an amended seven-day proposal presented by Iran, which envisages ending hostilities in Iran and Lebanon, unfreezing assets, lifting oil sanctions, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi stated that Iran awaits Washington's definitive position on the ceasefire proposals, while U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed further talks are expected this week.
