BJP wins mayor elections at three municipal corporations in Rajasthan

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party candidates won mayoral contests at Rajasthan's three biggest municipal corporations in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota on Friday.

In Jaipur, BJP candidate Sunil Kothari secured 89 votes to defeat Congress candidate Sunita Gupta Mawar by 29 votes with support from 11 Independent councillors.

Prasanna Chand Mehta won in Jodhpur while Anusuiya Goswami secured the mayor position in Kota, and party candidate Jitendra Chopra won the Suket municipality chairperson post by one vote.
