Parliament Passes Anti-Paper Leak Bill Amid Opposition Walkout

The Indian Parliament has passed the Public Examinations Amendment Bill 2026, aimed at curbing organized cheating and paper leaks in national recruitment and entrance exams.

The legislation introduces stringent penalties, including up to 10 years of imprisonment and fines reaching ₹1 crore for individuals or organizations found guilty of facilitating exam malpractice.

Opposition members staged a walkout in the Rajya Sabha, labeling the bill a 'cosmetic reform' and demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah over the recent NEET-UG paper leak scandal.
