BSE Sensex traded over 435 points up at 74,721.20, while the Nifty 50 advanced 46.65 points to 23,391.55 shortly after opening.
Foreign institutional investors purchased Indian shares worth 6 billion rupees on Friday, breaking a six-session net selling streak.
