Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a trilateral summit next month with U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to negotiate an end to the Ukraine conflict.
The proposal reportedly emerged during an October 9 telephone call that also yielded a diesel deal between Washington and Moscow.
The Kremlin suggested holding the dialogue on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit scheduled for November in Shenzhen.
