Former batter Aakash Chopra has urged selectors to retain Rohit Sharma as India's ODI opener for the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, citing his experience and current form.
Rohit, 38, recently scored 175 runs at an average of 58.33 during the England ODI series, including a 138-run knock, and holds a career record of 11,895 runs in 288 matches.
Chopra emphasized that the opening partnership with captain Shubman Gill should remain unchanged, with both players expected to return for the home series against the West Indies starting September 27.
