SK Hynix announced a $38 billion investment to construct new DRAM and NAND fabrication plants to meet growing demand for AI infrastructure.
The DRAM facility, costing approximately $25 billion, is scheduled to open in June 2029, while the $13.5 billion NAND fab is expected to launch in December 2028.
The company projects that demand for both memory types will maintain a compound annual growth rate of 19 percent through 2030, necessitating proactive production capacity expansion.
