Sana Fayaz, a Srinagar-born IFS officer, won five prestigious awards at the 2024 batch convocation ceremony held at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy on August 1, 2026.

She is the first woman from the Kashmir valley to join the Indian Forest Service as a direct recruit, having secured the 12th All India Rank in the exam.

Fayaz previously qualified for the Indian Trade Service and the JKAS-2021 examination before choosing a career in forest and wildlife conservation.
