Ireland's Data Protection Commission fined Google 403 million euros ($463 million) for violating EU privacy rules regarding the mishandling of users' location data.
The six-year investigation found that Google failed to lawfully or fairly process data within its Web & App Activity, Location History, and Location Accuracy features between 2018 and 2020.
Google stated that the ruling centers on historical policies and that it has significantly evolved its privacy practices and user tools since 2019.
