FSSAI Bans Everest and Laljee Godhoo Hing Over Quality Violations

The FSSAI has temporarily banned hing products from Everest Food Products and Laljee Godhoo after laboratory tests revealed significant quality standard violations.

Tests on compounded hing samples showed 30 to 40 percent less raw hing than required, while raw hing samples contained up to 32 percent starch, exceeding the 1 percent limit.

The regulator has directed both companies to recall substandard products and submit action plans, while also proposing new red hexagonal warning labels for high-sugar, salt, or fat foods.
