Trump Applauds Saudi-Turkiye-Pakistan Defence Pact

U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement signed on August 7, 2026, by Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Pakistan as a significant step toward collective regional security.

The pact stipulates that an armed attack against any one of the three signatory nations will be treated as an attack against all three members of the new defence framework.

India is currently assessing the implications of the agreement for its national security, with the External Affairs Ministry stating on August 11 that it will take necessary measures to safeguard interests.
