The Committee on Tribal Unity in Manipur suspended its shutdown for seven days to allow the government time to act on the abduction and killing of two Kuki youths.
The bodies of Paoginlal Hangshing and Tinginlun Chongloi were recovered on November 1, following their disappearance on October 28 in Kangpokpi district.
The group warned that it would intensify protests if demands remain unmet, while police stated investigations are ongoing with involvement from the National Investigation Agency.
