SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal Attacked in Nanded

Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal sustained a hand injury after being attacked with a kirpan in Nanded, Maharashtra, on August 13, 2026.

Police arrested the lone suspect, identified as Jaspal Singh, a 60-year-old sevadar at the Mata Sahib Gurudwara who reportedly worked as a court clerk.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a formal investigation into the motive behind the attack, which occurred during Badal's two-day visit to the district.
