Saudi Arabia Closes Pipeline After Iraq-Launched Drone Attack

Saudi Arabia shut its 1,200km East-West crude pipeline as a precaution following a drone attack that caused injuries and damage, as regional conflict widens.

Iraq admitted the drones originated from its Maysan province bordering Iran, prompting Baghdad to remove a military commander and launch an investigation.

The closure of the pipeline, which moves up to 5% of global oil supply, helped push crude prices above $100 a barrel for the first time since July.
