Sujeet Kalkal wins 65kg wrestling gold at Asian Games

India's Sujeet Kalkal won the men's 65kg freestyle wrestling gold at the 2026 Asian Games by overcoming a 2-9 deficit to defeat Tajikistan's Abdulmazhid Kudiev 10-9.

Sujeet secured the dramatic comeback victory with four successive takedowns in the second half of the 27-minute final bout.

Earlier in the tournament, the world number two defeated reigning Olympic champion Kotaro Kiyooka of Japan on technical criteria in the semi-finals.
