Saharanpur Authorities Demolish Mosque; SP MP Iqra Hasan Under House Arrest

Saharanpur authorities demolished an illegal mosque located within the District Magistrate's office complex on September 5, 2026, following a demolition order issued by the City Magistrate's Court last month.

Kairana Lok Sabha MP Iqra Hasan was placed under house arrest by police on Saturday to prevent her from visiting the demolition site in the Saharanpur district.

Samajwadi Party leader Afzal Ansari condemned the action as undemocratic and alleged the BJP is attempting to incite communal unrest ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
