Ukraine Transfers Two Captured North Korean Prisoners of War to South Korea

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced at the UN General Assembly that Ukraine has transferred two captured North Korean prisoners of war to South Korea.

The two soldiers were captured in Russia's Kursk region in January last year after North Korea deployed thousands of troops to support Moscow's military operations.

South Korea stated in June that it would accept all North Korean prisoners of war who fought for Russia and opposed repatriation to North Korea or Russia.
