Special NIA court sentences 10 convicts to death for 2013 Jhiram Valley Maoist attack

A special National Investigation Agency court in Chhattisgarh's Jagdalpur sentenced all 10 convicts to death for the 2013 Jhiram Valley Maoist attack on Wednesday.

The May 25, 2013, ambush targeted a Congress party convoy during the Parivartan Yatra, resulting in the deaths of 27 people, including senior political leaders.

Opposition Congress leaders reiterated demands for a probe into the political conspiracy angle, while Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the verdict.
