A trainee pilot and an instructor died on August 27, 2026, after their Tecnam P2006T aircraft crashed in an agricultural field near Natthupurwa village in Kanpur.

The twin-engine plane, operated by Garg Aviation Ltd. and bearing registration VT-NBV, took off at 11:30 a.m. and crashed approximately 20 minutes later, 5 nautical miles from Kanpur Civil Airport.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has dispatched a three-member team to the site, while the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau will conduct a formal probe into the cause of the accident.
