Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined a request by Opposition leaders to meet him on Monday regarding electoral processes and protests in Delhi.
The CJI cited the pendency of related matters before the Supreme Court in its judicial capacity and his own adjudicatory role as key reasons.
Congress president Mallikanjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi had sought the meeting to apprise the CJI of their concerns.
