India recorded over 1.64 lakh vector-borne disease cases up to June 2026, with malaria cases falling to 69,713 and dengue to 23,952.
While infections declined, Japanese Encephalitis deaths more than doubled to 21 compared to nine deaths during the same period in 2025.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that no state has reported shortages of diagnostic kits or requested additional central assistance during the current monsoon season.
