OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Plugin for iMessage Integration on Mac

OpenAI has released a plugin for Mac that allows ChatGPT Work and Codex users to search, draft, and send iMessages directly from their desktop.

The feature requires users to grant Full Disk Access and on-device message history permissions, with OpenAI stating the plugin does not create an index of user texts.

This integration follows recent legal tensions between Apple and OpenAI, including a July lawsuit filed by Apple accusing the AI company of trade secret theft.
